Jessica Chastain was undoubtedly one of the best-dressed stars at the Golden Globes last night, where she stunned on the red carpet in a liquid bronze metallic Atelier Versace gown and dazzling Piaget jewels.
"I picked the dress a few days ago," Chastain tells InStyle. "They made it for me, I think, back in May as a backup. I wore something of theirs to Cannes and this was my backup. And then I put it on the other day and thought, what a good backup that was. Let's wear this!"
When we asked the star what she loved most about the look, Chastain was quick to reply. "It was easy," she says. "I mean, when you work with a designer like Versace Atelier, the dress comes pretty easily." The actress, who was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role in a Motion Picture for her work in A Most Violent Year, also revealed that her ensemble paid tribute to the critically acclaimed film. "Well, it's funny," Chastain says. "If you were going to go thematic about it, it looks like an oil slick, and my movie's about heating oil. There you go."
