Ever since the Obsession commercials in the '80s, Calvin Klein fragrances have been known for their envelope-pushing, avant-garde campaigns. But with the launch of Beauty, the first scent that's part of Francisco Costa's Calvin Klein Collection line, the brand sought to do something more elegant and sophisticated. Their solution? Choosing actress Diane Kruger as the model and spokesperson for the fragrance. "Beauty is a very sophisticated fragrance. It has floral undertones that slowly wear off and have a lingering effect," Kruger told us. "I like to put it on in the morning after washing my face, it’s the first thing I do." Kruger starred in the print ad campaign, shot by photographer Craig McDean. "The concept of the Beauty campaign is a woman who feels confident when she walks into the room. She’s elegant, cultured and there’s a certain je ne sais quoi about her," said Kruger.
