The star first stole our hearts in 2014's Divergent—alongside Shailene Woodley (also InStyle's March 2016 cover girl) and Theo James—and made us cry uncontrollably as Gus in The Fault in Our Stars. Today, he's Hollywood's "It" star and among the elite ranks of InStyle's Man of Style.
So what is it about Elgort that has everyone swooning? It all comes down to his confidence—something he exudes in his personal, professional and fashionable life. "Being stylish isn't about wearing a suit every day," he explained to us during the 2015 InStyle Awards. "You don't have to look like you're out of Mad Men to be stylish. I think it's just about being yourself and being comfortable wearing anything. You could dress me in a Big Bird costume and I would still feel confident."
As for how the 22-year-old is dealing with his newfound stardom and being the apple of everyone's eyes? He stays humble, because he's just that kind of guy. "I'm happy that it's a result of something that I worked hard for," he told InStyle last year.
"When people recognize you for something that you're proud of, like The Fault in Our Stars, it's really nice, because that's a movie that means a lot to me. For young people in this industry, most of the roles out there aren't that rich, so I actually feel very lucky that that's how people know me. There's a point in time when it becomes more than just a film," he added, "but I wouldn't say I'm at that point yet."
