It took less than a second for The Master star Amy Adams to get compliments on the garden-inspired ensemble by Giambattista Valli she wore to the InStyle portrait studio at the Toronto International Film Festival. Though, if she had to pick between the way a dress looks and the way it feels, feeling trumps comfort all the way. “I want to feel like myself, so I rarely look in the mirror,” she told of how she picks her outfits, which also included a black Marchesa dress for her premiere and a Giambattista Valli sequin-covered look earlier in the week. “Sometimes I’ll love something and we’ll take a picture and then I’ll look and go, ‘Oh, that does not look good but it feels good.’” Eventually, she does take a peek, though. “I do [look in the mirror], but it’s not the first thing,” she said. “The first thing is not, what does this look like, it’s always what does it feel like. I’m a very tactile person.” Tell us: Do you pick your clothes by the way they look or the way you feel?
