Beauty campaigns aren't just for the young ingenues! Perhaps inspired by her dynamic range showcased on American Horror Story, Marc Jacobs has announced Jessica Lange as the first celebrity face of his eponymous beauty line. The designer revealed the news over Twitter yesterday afternoon, posting a sneak peek of the stunning advertisement, which was shot by photographer David Sims. We should have known something was up when the 64 year-old actress lent her voice to provide the spoken-word soundtrack for Jacobs' fall 2014 show, and the teaser image already suggests the major glamour Lange will bring to the campaign.
Meanwhile, Charlotte Rampling (right), 68 year-old English actress and longtime muse of makeup artist Francois Nars, has been named the new face of NARS cosmetics just in time for the brand's 20th birthday. "She is a natural beauty that feels strong, yet relatable," he tells WWD. "Her ability of transformation is unparalleled. Whether captured in pieces of artwork, through the lens of a magazine photographer or on film and the big screen, she has an amazing power to encompass a character." Rampling's campaign will be shot by Nars himself in a black and white portrait style, and is due to roll out in the fall in conjunction with the brand's 20th anniversary in September. Coincidentally, the last ad campaign the actress starred in was for Jacobs, in which she donned silk shorts with a fur shawl -- and not much else -- back in 2004.
