Lionel Richie is eager to collaborate with his fellow "Hello" singer Adele.

Of course, Richie's "Hello" was a smash hit in 1984 and Adele's is the reigning "Hello"—but just imagine what they could do together!

Richie has been outspoken about wanting to get together with the Brit singer to find out. And if the viral mash-up of the two songs is any indication, it would be pretty great.

"She has her hands full as she needs to promote my song—sorry, her song—'Hello,'" he said on ITV's talk show Lorraine. "I don't own the word 'Hello' so she got away with that!"

All joking aside, Richie, 66, clearly isn't suffering from "Hello" envy. In fact, he's hopeful he'll get some studio time with Adele, 27, after her album promotion and tour are finished.

"She's a songwriter and I'd love to be able to get in a room and just play," he says. "Don't put any pressure on her but every time you see her just say, 'Hello Adele, what about Lionel?'"
