In the The Hunger Games book, the Capitol is described as an overindulgent place of colored hair and exquisite fashion—and we can’t wait to see how the movie’s head costume designer Judianna Makovsky interpreted Suzanne Collins’ futuristic vision for the big screen. “We had so much to go on from the book,” Makovsky told InStyle.com of how she conceptualized the designs. “A lot of the decisions were made before [the cast] was even hired.” That includes dozens of costumes for lead actors Katniss, Peeta, Gale, and Effie as well as thousands more for extras. And, in an exciting twist, we might be seeing these beyond the theaters. “Nothing in confirmed, but I’m pretty sure they’ll go on display, some sort of exhibit,” she said. Wouldn't that be great?! See more need-to-know costume info from Makovsky in the gallery now, and check out the movie in theaters this Friday, March 23rd.
