Lately, we’ve been craving some nail art in our lives, which is why we enlisted the talents of celebrity manicurist Fleury Rose for a fresh set of ideas (and ones that we could actually DIY). Being that we’re in the midst of award season (the Grammys are this Sunday!), we asked that each design resemble a standout red carpet ensemble of her choosing.

Of course, Rose, who paints the digits of Julianne Moore and Emma Watson and often draws from the fashion world for her designs, was immediately up for the challenge. She used the beautiful designer gowns worn by the likes of Taylor Schilling and Lupita Nyong’o as her muses—and the results were spot on.

While these manis might look intimidating at first glance, when broken down step by step, Rose assures us they’re easy enough for even a beginner to achieve. She recommends prepping each look with clean, shaped nails and a protective base coat. Scroll down for all of the details on her designs, including the celeb inspiration and the names of every polish used.

Using a striper brush, paint an “X” on the entire nail in a bright red shade (Red My Mind, $8; thebodyshop-usa.com). 3. Widen the edges of the top half of the “X” so it becomes two triangles. 4. Fill in the bottom of the edge, leaving only a keyhole design. 5. Finish with a topcoat.
