Barack Obama wasn't the only president who got screentime last night during the first presidential debate at the University of Denver. The newest trailer for Steven Spielberg's new epic Lincoln also premiered, giving the title character plenty of time to show what he's made of. The film stars Daniel Day-Lewis as the 16th president, with Sally Field as Lincoln's wife Mary and Joseph Gordon-Levitt as their son Robert Todd. This new trailer gives us our first glimpse at some of Field's costuming, with classic characteristics that defined the time period surrounding the Civil War: large hoop skirts, billowing lace bell sleeves, low-cut necklines, and all. We look forward to seeing the rest of the costumes, which were created by veteran costume designer Joanna Johnston, who was behind the looks on iconic films like Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? The film comes out nationwide November 16. This should be interesting!
