With their velvety petals, lush shapes, heady fragrance and celebrated status as the flower of love, roses have long been favored by brides. And with the types and colors available today, including trendy chocolate and elegant stripes, "few flowers achieve such versatility as roses," says floral designer Rick B. Davis, who owns Amaryllis in Washington, D.C. "They can be used in many designs."
