Maybe you thought that ice sculptures belonged on tacky cruise ships and cascading bouquets had gone the way of bouffants, but with the resurgence of everything retro, fusty now seems fabulous. "The trick is to make people see a revived trend in a fresh context," says planner Rob Smith of Laurels Custom Flora & Events in L.A. One great example? The champagne fountain. A standard at fifties galas, this old-school crowd-pleaser is sparkling again. Tori Spelling dusted off the idea for her recent wedding (far left; vintage version at left), ensuring the bubbly was always flowing.
