Flower power brights are back in the form of stand-out frocks. “Brightly patterned dresses are fun and whimsical!” says stylist Emily Current. “With all of the black that went down the runway this season, they are refreshingly irreverent.” Current suggests channeling either Twiggy—with her mod minis—or seventies style star Talitha Getty, who wore floor-length frocks in bold brights. “Unlike the little black dress that relies heavily on accessories to make it interesting,” says Current, “brightly-patterned dresses speak for themselves.” Choose simple accessories in neutrals or metallics that will complement, rather than compete with the dress. Says Current, “I love to wear little sixties shifts with flats during the day.”
