Bamboo Earrings

Hilary Duff in CC Skye

"I want a girl with extensions in her hair; bamboo earrings, at least two pair," LL Cool J once rapped. These days, aspiring "Round the Way" girls are stocking up on big, bold doorknocker earrings. "It's sort of an '80s throwback and attitude," says stylist Mariel Haenn. She buys bamboo earrings for her client Rihanna, "off the street in Brooklyn and uptown [Manhattan]." The hoops can be paired with a dress (for "a little more edge") or with plain old jeans and a T-shirt. Who shouldn't try the trend? "Anyone who doesn't have enough attitude to carry it," says Haenn.
