Floor-Grazing Dresses

Paris Hilton in Tricia Fix

Lately stars have been sweeping down the red carpet in floor-grazing dresses that recall the 1970’s designs of Ossie Clark. Paris Hilton, Claire Danes, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, and Beyoncé Knowles have all worn the ethereal look. “The appeal of a long, flowy dress is that a woman can be chic but still comfortable,” says stylist Wouri Vice. Designer Tricia Fix, who created the frocks worn by Hilton and Sigler, favors the style’s versatility: “I love the thought of wearing long dresses with flip flops during the day and having the ability to wear the same dress with great stilettos at night.” Just be prepared for an otherworldly outcome. As Fix says, “It's the type of dress that, no matter what mood I'm in, makes me feel like a goddess.”
