Reese Witherspoon

"I knew exactly the charity that I wanted to spotlight," said Reese Witherspoon, who spoke on behalf of the Children's Defense Fund. "If we're going to eradicate poverty in this country, we need to start with children. Nothing is more important than education." Idol Gives Back organizers hoped to raise over $100 million with help from American Idol viewers, who had the opportunity to call in and donate through out the show.
