“I’m the host du jour of these things,” said Jay Leno. “They keep asking me. I’ve been the host for the past 18 years.” Leno was kept hopping with several auctions on top of the live show. Stars decorated pedal cars donated by Mercedes-Benz for the silent auction, but kept their pens away from the 2007 Mercedes the car company donated for the live auction. Virginia Madsen was one of several celebrities—including Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Cindy Crawford, Courteney Cox and Susan Sarandon—who donated their own purses for the Handbags of Hope auction. But Madsen was given quite a replacement, a goody bag that included items from Guess?, Kiehl’s, Disney, Grey Goose Vodka and RedEnvelope.com.
