13: EMMYS GOVERNORS BALL

“I didn’t think life could get much better,” award winner Mariska Hargitay remarked, “but this is not bad.” The dinner included avocados stuffed with shrimp and crab, filet of beef served with a mushroom tart, and, for dessert, a mousse made with Dove chocolate, banana crème and caramel. Guests could enjoy a cocktail made with Grey Goose vodka and Pom teas, while shaking a tail feather around the revolving bandstand, complete with fountains. The swing band got a lift when Seal took to the stage to dedicate “Mona Lisa” to wife Heidi Klum. “She didn’t get an Emmy,” he said, “but she’s a winner in my heart.”
