13: EMMYS GOVERNORS BALL

This year the Shrine Exhibition Hall (right off the auditorium where the awards are held) was transformed into a fantastical garden in honor of the evening's Moonlight & Romance theme. Silk branches hung from the ceiling beneath a seven-foot-wide full moon in a cobalt blue sky. Crystal chandeliers dangled from the faux tree limbs, creating soft light over the pink-draped tables. Roses and hydrangeas—all in a blush hue—were arranged in black vases. And, of course, the room was filled with celebrities of the big and small screens, including Hugh Laurie, Debra Messing, Katherine Heigl, Kate Walsh, Patrick Dempsey, Sandra Oh, Ellen Pompeo, Donald Sutherland, Conan O’Brien, Tyra Banks, Alfre Woodard, Geena Davis, Christopher Meloni, Bob Newhart, Harrison Ford, Martin Sheen, Heidi Klum, Seal, Jon Stewart, Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Mariska Hargitay, Stephen Colbert, Steve Carell, Kyra Sedgwick, Kevin Bacon, Annette Bening, Warren Beatty, Jaime Pressly and Jason Lee.
