Eva Longoria, Tony Parker

14: DOLCE & GABBANA HONORS SALMA HAYEK

“I heard Marilyn Monroe’s ghost frequents this hotel,” Lake Bell observed. “What she’s done with the place is fantastic.” Indeed, although Marilyn probably isn’t doing much party planning these days, the three-story, black-and-silver suite was decorated in a style suited to a silver-screen bombshell. Classic arrangements of white calla lilies filled the rooms, while white couches were situated for lounging beneath the hotel’s famous rooftop sign. But the real draw was Salma, Salma, Salma. “Every time I hear Salma speak I get so inspired,” Eva Longoria said. Jane Fonda—who drew a group of admirers herself—said of Hayek: “She’s very powerful. She’s a born director. She knows how to take charge.” Hayek didn’t have to worry about taking charge of wardrobe, as party sponsor Dolce & Gabbana stepped in with outfits for all. “Everyone is in a hot Dolce dress,” Mischa Barton remarked. “It just makes the party that much better.”
