“A manicure, a little shopping, a little socializing—sort of like a perfect Sunday afternoon,” Marcia Cross rhapsodized. Rebecca Romijn caught up with good friend Tyra Banks (“We’ve been model friends since back in the day,” Banks noted), while Kristen Bell bought a pair of earrings just like the ones modeled by Michelle Trachtenberg. Katie Holmes picked up some clothes for brand-new baby Suri and indulged her sweet tooth with a takeaway box of SusieCakes cupcakes. And everyone nibbled at a spread provided by Mary Pat Brandmeyer Catering. “What I love about the food is that it’s not chichi poo-poo food,” Banks remarked. “It’s, like, real—fried chicken, potato salad, summer barbecue food.” After hours of pampering, the guests took their leave, but not before they got a hand carrying the 70-pound gift bag out to their cars. “When I [first attended], I didn’t even know about the goody bag,” Debra Messing recalled, “and it barely fit in my car!”
