Viola Davis didn't get into the business to play dress-up. "I'm not the person who just wants to do the hair and makeup and take the cute pictures," she told Essence. "I wanted to master my acting skills. And I wanted to be great." If her two Oscar nominations and two Tony Awards are anything to go by, that object has been achieved.
