At 5-foot-11, Sigourney Weaver stands out in any room. So the native New Yorker has never needed to rely on heavy makeup or big hair to command attention. Onscreen, however, her hair has gone from natural, as primatologist Dian Fossey in Gorillas in the Mist, to nada (she shaved her head for Alien 3), to bombshell-blond in Galaxy Quest and to blue Na'vi giant in Avatar. Given her resume, it's lucky Weaver "has a perfectly shaped skull," says hairstylist Maury Hopson. In the past, Hopson has used Redken Straight to blow-dry Weaver's curly hair smooth, adding Extra Reflections by Jheri Redding for shine. Cloutier makeup artist Francesca Tolot uses Benefit Dr. Feelgood balm and Lorac Glow powder to give Weaver a bronzed face, accented with brown eye shadow and neutral lip color such as Stila Peach Shine lip gloss. "She has great bone structure," says Tolot. Which is just one reason this Aliens alum is still out of this world.
