Nicole Kidman is no stranger to change. "She's done it all—curly, straight, long, short," hairstylist David Babaii told InStyle. Over the years the actress has gone from attempting curly-hair home remedies ("I used to iron it, which is very dangerous") to sporting a mane so flawlessly sleek and pale it looks as if it grew that way. Yet no matter how she experiments with her looks, there's always a single constant. As makeup artist Angela Levin has said, "There's always a touch of glamour about her, even when she's not trying."

The natural redhead was taught to protect her pale skin from the intense Australian sun. "I had to stay in far more than most kids," Kidman, who starred at 16 in BMX Bandits has said. "My sister was chocolate-colored, swimming and surfing, and I'd be on my bed reading and dreaming."
