For the Toronto Film Festival premiere of Anna Karenina, makeup artist Gita Bass carefully balanced Knightley's defined lashes with a natural-looking flushed cheek. "I lined the eyes by dotting the liner between the lashes, and smudged it with a soft brush," said Bass. She then worked a shimmery cream shadow onto the star's lids using her fingers. "This warms up the product and makes it blend seamlessly," she added.
