With her long blond braids and trendy hat, the backup dancer (and Malcolm in the Middle guest star) could have doubled for her famous sister.
When hair pro Ken Paves describes Ashlee Simpson as "my rebellious younger sister," he speaks for fans everywhere, not just her older sib, Jessica. "She's not concerned with what people think. Her style is self-designed," says Paves, who first did Simpson's hair when she was just 13. "I added extensions and ironed it straight, and she said, 'I don't like it.' She shook her head upside down, ran her fingers through it, and said, 'There. Now I love it!'" No surprise then, that the mom of Bronx Mowgli has tried every hair color from platinum to her present-day blond-tipped brown. And, trademark black eyeliner aside, she is just as adventurous when it comes to cosmetics. "She controls her look," makeup artist Mary Phillips says. "We could bring in a million tear sheets, and she'll say, 'Nope, I want this.'"
