Emma Watson doesn't balk at having spent ten years made up as the freckled and frumpy Hermione Granger. "I really use the discomfort, the itchiness, the backcombed hair to get into character," she has said. Even when it comes to her glamour moments—the 19-year-old has become a front row regular at Chanel and is now the face of Burberry—she is strictly pragmatic. "I guess it's helpful for me to be seen away from Harry Potter," Watson has said. "You know: 'she can look different, she is older, she could be cast in other roles.'" The soon-to-be college freshman has pledged to live a normal dorm life, but with three more Potter films to come (including this month's Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince), we are guaranteed to see more of this reluctant English rose on the red carpet. And, lucky for Watson, there will be no extra freckles necessary.
