The star of Girl in Progress favors liquid liner and pale, shimmery gloss, but chooses her products wisely. "I'm heavy-handed with makeup, so I have to use only light formulas," Mendes has said. "Otherwise I look like I'm working a different profession!"

As a high school senior in Glendale, California, the big-haired beauty kept her regimen simple: "My mom taught me to moisturize with cocoa butter because it's natural."
