"One thing's for sure: Now when I look at
Funny Girl, I think I was gorgeous. I was too beautiful to play Fanny Brice." So said
Barbra Streisand of her Oscar-winning 1968 movie debut, and she's got a point. Perhaps she's always been an unlikely star in the galaxy of Hollywood lookalikes, but her full lips, almond-shaped eyes and strong silhouette have cemented the legendary artist's status as a legendary beauty. "I like my profile, but people made fun of the way I looked," she told
InStyle of her early careerand favorite camera angles. "[One] side's better. But hey, the other one isn't really bad." Nope, not bad at all. And with a career that has earned her nine Grammys, four Emmys, two Oscars and a Tony, it's clear that Ms. Streisand is more than just a funny girl.
Streisand started taking beauty risks in high school: "I put streaks in my hair with hydrogen peroxide, then put a rinse on to try and cover some of it. But the rinse was made of all different colors...so the streaks turned all those colors!"
