If You're Wearing Green

While we love getting festive, pairing a green dress with a bold red lip can appear slightly gaudy. Stick to neutral lipsticks and glosses, and play up the eyes—a la Allison Williams—instead. "Allison has such big, gorgeous blue eyes that I wanted to accentuate them with a stronger eye and a softer lip," says makeup artist Julie Harris. She used a soft pink all over Williams's lids, then contoured her crease with a warm brown. Harris finished by blending a pale gold onto the star's inner corners as a highlight.
