According to Dove hairstylist Mark Townsend, a single time period didn't inspired the look he created for Best Actress nominee Lea Michele. "We really wanted to go for something organic, young and modern," he said. Townsend blew the hair dry, twisted in tiny ringlets with a 1" curling iron, and then pinned the hair back into a messy chignon, leaving out the layers in front. He misted those pieces with Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray and scrunched them for a lived-in feel.
