We’ll be honest—sometimes well-defined waves can feel too formal for our taste. Rose Byrne’s waves, created by John Frieda celebrity stylist Harry Josh, were one part crimp and one part curl, with equal portions of softness and shape. "I went for old school Hollywood style with a modern twist," said Josh. "The shape and silouette are classic, but I roughed it up and loosened the waves to make the look less uptight." The pin-straight part kept things from getting too unruly, and of course, her sparkly barrette was, ahem, icing on the cake.
