After dating famed Spago chef Wolfgang Puck for just over four years, fashion designer Gelila Assefa says, the two felt as if they were already married. But wanting to make it official, Puck presented Assefa with a ring during a 2005 stay at the Ritz-Carlton, Laguna Niguel, in Dana Point, Calif. With a smile, Assefa admits thinking, What took him so long? Puck's defense? "I was so committed to Gelila, I didn't need a stone to confirm it!"
