A mutual friend introduced Autumn Reeser to writer and director Jesse Warren at a movie screening in 2000 while both were studying at UCLA. But it took two years for Warren to request Reeser's number from their pal. As if their mutual friend could predict the future, he presented the digits to Warren in an engagement-ring box.
