KITCHEN "We've always had an island in every kitchen," says the actress. "I got that idea from my mom. It's great because then people pitch in. Everyone's chopping vegetables!"

SITTING ROOM The photos that hang above the sofa in a sitting room help make a house a home, says Raver. "I love being surrounded by family memories. We've got pictures of our parents in their 20s and one of my grandmother getting married."

LIVING ROOM To soften the austere effect of the poured concrete floors, Raver brought in a colorful deep-pile rug. "The minute we put it in, we all cuddled up on it. I have two boys, and it's the perfect place for them to wrestle."
