Russell Crowe showed up to support fellow Aussie Nicole Kidman at the Sundance premiere of Birthday Girl in 2002. "I'd read and liked the script and had to basically convince [the director] to cast me in it," Kidman has said. "Because it was a bit of a risk to cast me as a Russian girl."
