THE LOOK Voluminous ShagHOW-TO Hudson's stylist, L.A.-based Lawrence Davis, began by applying a volumizing spray all-over strands before completely blowing them dry. Next, he divided hair into two-inch sections and misted each with a heat styling protective spray. "It coats cuticles and helps maintain shine," he says. Using a one-and-a-half inch curling iron, Davis randomly clamped sections to create a slight bend. "Pull strands from the front and flip them outwards with the iron for a more individual, piece-y look."
INSIDER TRICK "Make your fingers the main styling tool," Davis says. "They can manipulate hair more easily than a brush."
