Show of hands: Who's excited to pull their navy coat out of the closet again this year? Thought so. Hey, we're all for neutrals, but a vibrant topper will brighten up the dreariest days and make whatever else you're wearing feel instantly more special. Think of these as you would Hermès boxexciting all on its own.
HOW TO WORK IT
Designers were on a monochromatic kick, matching coats to the clothes underneath. So pick one vivid huewhether it be scarlet, taxicab yellow, hot pink, or purpleand run with it. Since you're dealing with loud shades, keep everything else quiet. That means clothes with minimal prints, simple shoe (ankle-strap pumps, for example), and few accessories. Colorphobes may be tempted to check these coats at the door, but why miss a chance to make a memorable entrance?
