Sophisticated style-setters in attendance at New York Fashion Week are showing off their love of all things ladylike—from pearls and pencil skirts to patent pumps and structured totes. After a few seasons filled with rock-chic wares, a return to a more polished way of dressing was seen on the fall 2010 runway. Grown-up dressing requires a three easy pieces: 1) a structured bag, 2) a sleek pencil skirt or simple sheath, and 3) polished pumps (preferably patent).
