Picture scads of celebrities in couture gathered in an exclusive Manhattan mansion downing glasses of Love Potion, a mixture of Cartier champagne and vodka, with a raspberry garnish. But don’t hate them because they’re fabulous—all this celebrating was for a good cause. Several of them, actually. Cartier plans to donate a million dollars to a group of charities championed by star attendees such as Sarah Jessica Parker, Ashley Judd, Scarlett Johansson, Spike Lee, Michael Stipe, Edward Norton, Salma Hayek, and Liv Tyler—through sales of their new love charity bracelets. UNICEF, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, YouthAIDS, Mercy Corps, and the Maasai Wildnerness Conservation Trust will benefit. Philanthropy and a Cartier bracelet? Talk about bang for your buck.
