Although host Jessica Alba and presenters such as Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves put on quite a show, the real action was backstage at the MTV Movie Awards in Los Angeles. Colin Farrell and Jamie Foxx promoted their remake of Miami Vice (thankfully, not in sockless loafers). Talladega Nights stars Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly refused to break character, cracking everyone up with their portrayals of Nascar drivers in full regalia. X-Men leading ladies Famke Janssen and Rebecca Romijn celebrated their superhuman box office success. Jessica Simpson and co-star Dane Cook (in this summer’s Employee of the Month) looked like a cute couple (they’re not). Justin Timberlake and new Lois Lane Kate Bosworth embraced like old friends. All in all, everyone was in an excellent mood. Might their bliss have had anything to do with the $17,000 gift bags?
