YOU BETTER GET THIS PARTY STARTED Saturday, April 1, 2006. Finally, an awards show without the plethora of gowns and glitter—or attendees over thirty-five. The 19th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards rocked the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles over the weekend. Chris Rock was there, but not doing a host’s politically charged stand-up routine. Rather, the comic won two awards—for Favorite Wannabe and Voice from an Animated Movie, Madagascar. This year, Nacho Libre’s Jack Black did the hosting honors—and also had the honor of giving Robin Williams the green slime treatment. Pink performed her hit Stupid Girls, and Justin Timberlake won for Favorite Burp Off. For the tween and teen set, there was no better place to be.
