SWING OUT, SISTER Friday, March 24. After years as the runt of the fashion-show circuit—baby-stepping its way toward the notoriety of big sisters New York, Paris, London and Milan—Los Angeles is finally coming into its own. Still the darling of smaller, boutique designers, the city, given its abundance of A-list residents, is becoming a fashion hub for the jet-set. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, concluding its week-long run today, was, by all accounts, a smashing success, as evidenced by the number of stars who studded the shows’ front rows.
