WALK THIS WAY Tuesday, January 10, 2006. Jessica Simpson lit up the stage of the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, as she performed a feisty rendition of her Best Song from a Movie, “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’,” at the 32nd annual People’s Choice Awards.
PEOPLE WHO NEED PEOPLE Stars from movies, TV and music flooded the Shrine and sat nervously in their seats as presenter George Lopez’s comedy routine turned into a profanity-laced litany of idol-bashing, particularly of Nick Lachey. On a lighter note, Best Daytime Host winner Ellen DeGeneres videotaped the evening and hung with best gal Portia de Rossi, while newcomers and winners of the Favorite New TV Comedy, My Name Is Earl, Jason Lee and Jaime Pressly, took in the scene from backstage. Others in attendance: Kelsey Grammer, Sandra Bullock, Reese Witherspoon, Owen Wilson and Ray Romano.
