GLITZY GALA Monday, October 24, 2005. Just as the Oscar buzz is beginning, Hollywood concluded its six-day film festival with a star-studded ceremony that gifted actors, directors and movies—many of which have yet to hit theaters—with the season's first gold statuettes at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
LET'S GO TO THE MOVIES Whether they turned out to support co-stars or to be honored themselves, stars Jennifer Aniston, Charlize Theron, Don Cheadle, Mena Suvari, Kerry Washington, Maggie Gyllenhaal and many, many more showed up for the untelevised ceremony.
BEST DRESSED The perfect complement to Jennifer Esposito's something new (a win for best ensemble cast for Crash), was her something old—a purple vintage dress. "They don't make things like they used to," she says, "I just feel vintage fits a woman's body better." And Aniston chose a more celebratory accessory—a glass of Dom Perignon—after her pal and former co-star Jake Gyllenhaal won the breakthrough acting award.
