GAME ON ESPN isn't just a boy's network anymore, thanks to recent dominant females—race-car driver Danica Patrick and golfer Annika Sorenstam, to name just a few—and on Wednesday, July 13, these fearless females and their male counterparts were honored at the 13th annual ESPY Awards at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles.
THE PLAYERS Great athletes like tennis aces Maria Sharapova and Andy Roddick played the field with stars Patrick Dempsey, the Rock, Nicollette Sheridan and the night's host, Matthew Perry, among others. THE BIG NIGHT Though Wednesday night's awards were cause for celebration (Lance Armstrong, currently on the Tour de France trail, and Sorenstam took the top honors), the pre-party at the Playboy Mansion the night before could make for tabloid fodder as Roddick and Sharapova hung together at the soirée and are rumored to have then retired to the Tropicana Bar at the Roosevelt Hotel for doubles-only after hours.
