Welcome to "Who Won Fashion Today," where we award the boldest, best dressed person of the day. Winning fashion doesn't necessarily mean you're wearing the most expensive, trendiest, or prettiest dress. Rather, we reward risk-takers—those that stay true to their personal style and make us go, "Now THAT is a LEWK.”

It’s hard to put into words how incredible Jane Goodall is. So you can only imagine my excitement when I knew I was getting to see her, up close, live, in the flesh, at last night’s DVF Awards. The DVF Awards are undoubtedly one of the best nights of the year. It’s incredibly chic (all the wrap dresses you could ask for) and honors extraordinary women who are committed to helping other women.

Last night, at the United Nations, Louise Dubé won the People’s Voice Award, Yoani Sánchez and Baljeet Sandhu won the International award, Karlie Kloss won the Inspiration Award, and Dr. Jane Goodall deservedly won the Lifetime Leadership Award.

So how did Jane Goodall win fashion in a room full celebrities, models, and fashion influencers? All you have to do is take a look at her Instagram to see why:

Her win goes only in part to her epically chic all-black outfit, which was delightfully accented by a butterfly printed silk scarf. Her best accessory? The famous plush Mr. H, a monkey she carries around the world with her. The stuffed animal, given to her by her friend Gary Haun, has visited more than 60 countries, making him quite possibly the most well-traveled accessory around.

Jane Goodall. You are a hero to the world. You are an inspiration. All that (and your great scarf) make you a very, very chic, winning woman.
