Stars took a break from Milan Fashion Week to attend the first-ever Green Carpet Fashion Awards in the stylish Italian city on Sunday night. The iconic Teatro alla Scala provided the backdrop for the inaugural awards show that toasted to figures in the industry who are championing sustainability.

Award recipients of the momentous night included Gisele Bündchen, seamstresses for the house of Valentino, Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Alessandro Michele, and more. And naturally, the night's looks didn't disappoint. Many took on the #GreenCarpetChallenge, which encourages stars to opt for sustainable looks on the red carpet.

Bündchen turned heads in a green, sustainably-sourced viscose gown by Stella McCartney, while Zoë Saldana slipped on an Armani Privé gown that was selected from the house's archives. Amber Valletta's Missoni design featured upcycled fabric, organic silk, and a recycled zipper. Even the night's green carpet was made from recycled fishing nets and old carpets.
