It has the delicate effect and dynamic shimmer of pearl eyeshadow, but the pale green finish gives the color an unexpected edge.
Last night at the London premiere of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Jenna Dewan Tatum played off the pastel green detailing of her statuesque gown by carrying the color into her eye makeup. Sheer washes of pink on her cheeks and lips complemented the hue, but didn't compete. We love how the shade almost appears aquamarine (and dare we say, mermaid-esque) when the light hits at certain angles, and how it mirrored the tones in her ensemble without reading too matchy-matchy.
VIDEO: The Best Eyeliner for Your Eye Color
When working with a shadow as sparkly as Dewan Tatum's, a reliable makeup primer is key in getting the shimmer to adhere. Start with your eye area first, before even applying foundation, and blend your favorite formula from your lid to crease. Use a flat shadow brush to press the hue onto your skin—windshield wiper motions often cause too much fallout. A fine-tipped liner brush will help you carry the tone along your lower lash line, and finish with eyeliner and mascara to prevent the pale shade from washing you out.
Finally, follow with your foundation and concealer as usual. Reversing the order allows you to easy clean up any loose sparkles that may have fallen from your lids.
